Sunshine Coast Community Services Society (SCCSS)

Mobilizing Community Support to Secure Critical Housing Funds on the Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast Community Services Society (SCCSS) was in the final stretch of securing funds for its Building Together project—a 6-story development providing 34 units of affordable housing for women and children facing violence or housing insecurity. They had already secured 90% of the $34 million required but needed additional fundraising support to close the remaining gap. SCCSS saw the success of a previous capital campaign we had worked on and wanted to replicate that success for their 50 Women for SCCSS initiative.

To reach their goal, SCCSS required full campaign support, from fundraising consulting to brand development, public relations, and digital marketing.

What We Did

Campaign Messaging & Brand Identity

We developed a cohesive brand identity for the 50 Women for SCCSS campaign, ensuring that the messaging centered around unity, resilience, and the tangible impact of community support. This included crafting a Case for Support document, donor communications, and a storytelling framework that highlighted real stories of those impacted by SCCSS’s programs.

Website Design & Development

We developed the campaign website, designed to provide a seamless donation experience while also showcasing the inspiring bios of the 50 women fundraising for SCCSS. The website highlighted key sponsors, shared updates on campaign progress, and told the story of the initiative from inception to success. Clear calls to action encouraged engagement, making it easy for supporters to contribute and follow the campaign’s progress.

Social Media & Digital Advertising

A multi-channel digital strategy maximized reach and engagement across social platforms. Our role focused on developing impactful visuals and messaging. We designed creative assets for buses, ferry ads, newsletters, radio spots, and digital ads, ensuring cohesive branding across all materials.

Print & Media Outreach

We secured media coverage and developed compelling print materials, including donor outreach collateral, event invitations, and campaign signage. Press coverage played a key role in boosting credibility and community involvement.

Fundraising Consulting & Training

Beyond strategy execution, we provided hands-on fundraising training for SCCSS’s internal team and campaign ambassadors. This ensured that campaign leaders had the tools and confidence to effectively engage potential donors and partners.

“Anchor played a key role in helping shape our ambitious capital fundraising campaign, designing a lovely website and helping shape strong, cohesive key messaging, media materials, and providing helpful media training for our fundraisers. Their work gave the campaign a polished, professional look, and we received a lot of positive feedback from the community. We truly appreciate Anchor’s contribution to helping us launch a capital campaign we’re proud of.”
